Is ChatGPT, Ai chatbot getting you depressed? Read this

There’s an ongoing buzz about, ChatGPT/GPT-3 on Twitter, and other social media platforms.

But before we continue, let me ask you a question.

How do you take the widespread use of ChatGPT/GPT-3 to generate content or copy?

“Boy, that shit is wreaking havoc. It’s givingย  me and others a run for their job.” Would this beย  your reply?

Do you feel threatened by AI?

Do you think the end of the world is here for your source of livelihood already?

Well, I understand your concerns.

It could be crazy.

I feel you.

But, I don’t think you should worry too much about it.

Do you know why I said that?

It’s because artificial intelligence (AI) can never be humans.

Yes, they may be programmed to have some features that make them operate like humans…

They may be trained to do some things like humans, but…

Ai can never think or act like you.

Our ability to think and feel emotions is priceless – those are things ai can never do ( not yet, if at all).

C’mon.

Why would you compare yourself to something that’s programmed by humans – like you?

That’s a disrespect to you, your power of imagination, and your spirit of creativity.

Don’t do that.

When it comes to ai, there are 2 sets of people:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ first set- the ones that get frightened by it.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ second set – the he ones that are happy about it.

The first set sees ai as a threat.ย

They want it gone forever so they can be assured of their job security.

These sets are always in a defensive and scared mood – which in turn limits their creativity because they aren’t in the full state of genius.

They allow the continuous thoughts of ai to dampen their mood.

They let the thoughts of ai give them anxiety. Always sad.

Are youย  among this set of people ?

Whether you like it or not, the truth is Ai is here to stay.

So why are you bothering about it, when your worries won’t change anything?

This brings us to the second set of people.

This set is happy about ai.

They see it as a much needed companion.

Here’s my take on ai:

Imagine you’re assigned to do a tasking project alone, one that saps your mental energy- and takes your time.ย

You spend your time trying to get the job done.

After some hours or daysโ€ฆ youย  complete the job, drained.

But then, you were given another job to do.

This one is an even more difficult job than the previous one, but this time, they assigned someone to assist you.

How’d you feel?

Won’t you get excited?

Won’t you find it soothing to share the burden and stress with someone else, instead of doing it all alone?

That’s how I think of ai: an assistant, not a threat.

You should harness the power of AI to turbocharge your productivity, instead of getting depressed about it.

Your edge over ai:

Yes, ai can be trained to learn language and generate “realistic-looking content”,

But,

They aren’t trained to produce “factually accurate content”.

Do you get it?

The fact that AI canย  be trained to learn language doesn’t mean it has the capacity to ‘reason’ like humans.

AI is trained on finite data.

That means, it can’t acquire new knowledge on its own, unless its database is updated.

It can crawl the internet to curate content/copy, but it can discern real information from fake information.

Do you know what that means?

If AI is used to create a copy or content where factual accuracy is important, it could add some credible-looking but misleading information- which is dangerous.

And this is one of the reasons a leading Software development, and Q&A forum, Stack Overflow, announced a ban on GPT-generated answers, because of their misleading nature.

You can read more about it here:

So, while AI can be a great tool to help us make our work easier, it can be a threat to incompetent workers or writers.

Yes, as a tool, it can’t operate on itself ( not yet)…

It still needs humans to function properly.

This is a wakeup call for you to upgrade your skills.

โ€ฆ and earn to be among those who’d leverage on AI to increase their productivity.

Don’t feel sad or depressed about AI taking your job ( except you’re ineffective).

Learn to see AI as an assistant, and work with it to grow.

Stay Sharp,
