I was talking with a client two days ago.
She’s a renowned public speaker, author, and coach.
She needed help with writing an email sequence to sell her upcoming mentorship program.
But there was a problem.
She wanted to sell a book and promote her upcoming mentorship program in the same email sequence.
I told her that was not ideal.
“But other copywriters I’ve hired in the past have done it that way,” she pointed out, “so what’s your problem with that?”
I smiled and gave her my reason.
Here’s what I told her…
“You’d overwhelm your subscribers. To avoid “decision paralysis” among your subscribers, you need to focus on one offer per sequence.
Your subscribers are bombarded with tons of offers per day. They are tired of it.
Don’t add to their mental stress by giving them more than one offer per sequence.
If you do, they may become confused about the offer to select, and abandon deciding entirely.
Sales lost!
Don’t make that mistake,ย it’d ruin your sales, subscriptions, and conversion rate.
You don’t want that.
If your subscribers are looking for excuses not to buy from you, don’t give them one… by giving them multiple offers at once.
Instead, make their decision to grab your offer easy for themโwith one offer.
Each email in the sequence should take the reader closer to grabbing the offer.
Show them the value they’d get from your offer and make them understand how it’d make their lives better.”
She understood my point and decided on the offer she wanted us to focus on.
Focus on the power of one.
I learned that from a great copywriter, Michael Masterson.
When you focus on one idea per message, your #conversion rate will be much higher than when you promote multiple ideas.
